Biography
When Cao Cao was Governor of Yanzhou, Bi Chen of Donghai was his Aide-de-camp. At Zhang Miao’s rebellion, Bi Chen’s family were abducted, because of this, Cao Cao urged Bi to leave, saying: “Your elderly mother is with Zhang Miao, you can go.” Bi Chen showed obeisance and declared his loyalty, moving Cao Cao to tears.. As soon as Bi Chen left the tent, he went to Zhang Miao. At the fall of Lü Bu, Bi Chen was captured alive. The host feared for him but Cao Cao said: “A person is filially pious to his parents, will also be loyal to his lord!
