Biography
Assigned to guard Boshui Pass against Zhang Lu as one of Liu Zhang’s noted generals, alongside Yang Hui. When Liu Bei was invited into Shu, Gao Pei wrote several times to Liu Zhang in protest, asking for Liu Bei to be sent back to Jing. When Liu Bei later announced he was returning home, Gao Pei went with Yang Hui to visit Liu Bei but they were executed for lack of courtesy and the pass taken.
