Biography
Gongsun Gong was Gongsun Du’s son and Gongsun Kang’s brother. When Yuan Shang, Supuyan and Yuan Xi fled to Gongsun Kang, Gongsun Gong was one of the first people to advise putting all three of them to death. Upon Gongsun Kang’s death, Gongsun Gong became the regent of the Gongsun family’s territories. He reigned for a short while, during which time Gongsun Huang, the eldest son of Kang, died. Eventually Gongsun Gong was supplanted by Gongsun Yuan, who was the rightful heir of the Gongsun’s lands. Despite the fact that Gongsun Gong had only ruled his famiily’s possessions because Gongsun Yuan and Gongsun Huang were too young, Gongsun Gong was recognized by the Wei court as sovereign. He was also given the rank of ’General of the Flying Cavalry.’
