Biography

Historic (Confirmed)

Lady Wang, native of Nanyang, was one of Sun Quan’s wives. She was chosen by Sun Quan during the years of Jiahe, and gave birth to Sun Xiu. When Sun He became crown prince his mother, Lady Wang of Langya, was greatly revered. All other consorts were sent to live outside the palace, and Lady Wang (of Nanyang) went to Gongan, where she died and was buried.

When Sun Xiu ascended the throne he dispatched a herald to revere her posthumously as Empress of Reverent memories, and she was reburied in the Jing Tombs. As the Wang family had no descendants, Wen Yong, Lady Wang’s brother of the same mother, was made marquis of a commune. (1)
